You've just learned about a world that existed before Genesis 1:3 — a world that was made perfect, governed by the most glorious creature God ever made, and destroyed by that creature's rebellion. Most people read that and think: interesting history. But the same being who destroyed the first world is actively at work in your world today. That's not history. That's your present situation.

We've also traced the outline of God's plan from eternity past into all the eternity to come. God will yet have a universal, perfect, and sinless kingdom in the future—one from which all rebels against His eternal plan will be separated. We've seen that God created this vast universe to be inhabited by eternal free moral agents who willingly give themselves to bringing about the highest public good.

We've also explored the various kinds of beings that inhabit the universe. And we've spent considerable time studying the warfare that Satan, fallen angels, and demons are waging against God and His plan—and against those people who are devoted to cooperating with God.

As believers, you need to become fully acquainted with evil spirits and their tactics in this spiritual war. These forces won't stop at any low or degrading method of warfare. They have no righteous principles, so they'll take advantage of any weakness and ignorance among Christians everywhere.

We've seen that God permits these evil forces to remain active so believers can develop faith and character. As saints, you have a sacred duty and responsibility to know how to wage successful warfare against these unscrupulous spirits.

Sadly, most believers don't seem to care—or at least they don't put forth much effort to defeat these enemies. Many seem quite uninformed about the war between God and Satan. Often they unknowingly cooperate with Satan and his plan, spreading his doctrines and lies more than they cooperate with God and spread His truth.

This misdirection happens because people have changed the Word of God from what is plainly written into human theories and church traditions. These have been handed down by men who have nullified Bible truths by making them mystical, spiritual, and symbolic.
