The Christian Response: Evangelism, Compassion, and Spiritual Warfare
The Gospel in Three Minutes

1. The Need for a Concise Gospel
Most evangelistic opportunities do not last an hour. They last three minutes. A friend asks a question. A coworker shares a struggle. A neighbor opens the door. The believer who can share the gospel clearly and briefly is prepared for these moments. This lesson teaches a three-minute gospel outline.
The outline is not a script to be memorized robotically. It is a framework to be adapted to the listener. The goal is to communicate the bad news of sin, the good news of Christ, and the necessary response of faith and repentance.
2. The Bad News
Begin with God. He created us for Himself. He is holy, just, and loving. We have rebelled against Him. Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned and fall short of His glory. Romans 6:23 says that the wages of sin is death. This death is not merely physical; it is spiritual and eternal separation from God in hell.
Be honest but not cruel. The bad news is real, but it is not the whole message. We present it because it makes the good news good.
3. The Good News
The good news is that God did not leave us in our sin. John 3:16 says that He so loved the world that He gave His only Son. Jesus lived the life we should have lived, died the death we deserved to die, and rose again to defeat sin and death. By His sacrifice, He satisfied divine justice and opened the way to forgiveness.
Emphasize that salvation is a gift. Ephesians 2:8-9 says that it is by grace through faith, not by works. Christ did for us what we could never do for ourselves.
4. The Response
The response is repentance and faith. Repentance means turning from sin and self. Faith means trusting Christ alone to save. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13. Invite the listener to turn to Christ now, while there is time.
Close with a simple question: "Would you like to turn from your sin and trust Jesus today?" Then be ready to pray with them and follow up.
