Part II — How God Moved Through History

Personal Application
This supplement is a heart-to-heart companion to the preceding two lessons — addressing your immediate personal needs and practical application of the truths studied.
Conscience alone couldn't stop humanity from filling the earth with violence — that's the lesson of the Dispensation of Conscience. And God's plan for needs goes unrealized when specific barriers get in the way. This supplement is where those two lessons get personal: What does your conscience know that you've been ignoring? And what's blocking the provision God has already made available to you?
Here's what we discovered about Satan's strategy: his goal was to prevent the seed of the woman — Christ — from ever entering the world. Why? Because if he could stop Christ from coming, he could avoid his own doom and keep control of the Earth indefinitely.
But here's the wonderful news: Satan was defeated in his plan for that age and every age that followed! The Messiah did come, and He made complete provision for every person to have power over all satanic forces. Because of Christ, you can claim God's benefits for this life and for eternity.
In Lesson Twelve, we tackled some tough questions: Why aren't God's plans for human flourishing fully realized? Why do we see such widespread failure, poverty, sickness, and unhappiness on Earth — and why shouldn't these conditions exist?
Here's what we discovered: It is not — and could never be — God's will for you to suffer misery and want just so you'll stay humble enough to be saved. That doesn't have to be your lot in life! The gospel enables you to overcome every obstacle and live saved, prosperous, and happy in Christ.
We also saw that many doctrines being taught in modern churches are simply false and unscriptural. You are under a moral obligation to have faith in God and never doubt anything you ask of Him.
Think about it this way: You can't secure the best for yourself or your fellow man while living in defeat and failure. You don't endure these things for God's sake or Christ's sake — you endure them because of your own failures and because of false teachings.
It's almost unpardonable to be satisfied with defeat when you have the power to do otherwise! That's why we need to understand the laws of prosperity — the principles through which all people can have guaranteed success if they'll obey them.
THE FIRST LAW OF PROSPERITY IS TO BELIEVE THAT IT IS GOD'S WILL FOR YOU TO PROSPER AND THAT YOU ARE IN HIS WILL.
Contrary to what many people think, God wants you to be prosperous! If that's true — and it is — then God will see to it that you prosper if you'll learn these laws and cooperate with Him in all things.
Ask yourself: Why would God want His own children to lack what they need while giving good things to those who rebel against Him? That simply doesn't make sense.
Until Christians wake up, believe the whole Bible, and demand that their leaders teach the whole truth, we won't see the prosperity, happiness, and success that should mark every believer's life.
God has created an abundance of everything people need — there's enough for everyone. He laid down certain laws of life and prosperity, and all He asks is that we obey them. These laws are plainly revealed in Scripture, given for all to follow, and those who follow them will surely reap the promised benefits.
Look back at the promises we studied in Lesson Ten, Point III. You can't read all those promises without being convinced that it's God's highest will to bless His children with prosperity and everything they need and want right here and now.
Let this be firmly settled in your heart: you are in harmony with God's will when you desire to prosper, be healthy, and have victory over sin and failure.
